Vietnam electronic visa (e-visa) is a simple and convenient form of online visa application, chosen by millions of foreigners when they want to enter Vietnam.
Applicable subjects: Since August 15, 2023, Vietnam has expanded e-visa issuance to citizens of all countries and territories around the world.
Passport: Foreigners must have a passport valid for at least 6 months from the expected date of entry.
Not subject to entry ban: Not subject to entry ban according to Vietnamese law.
The entire e-visa application process is done online via the Vietnam Immigration Department's Electronic Information Portal. The basic steps include:
Step 1: Access the Electronic Portal
You access one of two official domains:
Step 2: Prepare electronic documents
Portrait photo: A 4x6 cm photo file (.jpg format, size ≤ 2MB, white background, face looking straight, no hat, no glasses).
Passport personal information page photo: A photo file of the passport personal information page (.jpg format, size ≤ 2MB).
Step 3: Declare information
Fill in your personal and travel details completely and accurately in the online application form (form NA1a). This information must match your passport.
Once completed, the system will provide an electronic file code for you to track the results.
Step 4: Pay the fee
Pay the visa fee online using an international payment card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express...). The fee for a single-entry visa is 25 USD, and for a multiple-entry visa is 50 USD.
Step 5: Receive results and print e-visa
After submitting your application, you use the application code to check the results. The normal review time is 3 working days (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and holidays).
If your application is approved, you will receive an e-visa file. You will need to print this file to present at the port of entry.
Duration of stay: Vietnam E-visa is valid for up to 90 days .
Entry Type: You can choose single or multiple entry type.
Applicable border gates: E-visa users are only allowed to enter and exit through international border gates as prescribed by the Vietnamese Government.
